PLAINVILLE – Planridge Park Casino is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The slot salon returned to full-time gaming on Wednesday, employees announced and will be open 24/7 in the future.
Plainridge, the state’s other two casinos in Everett and Springfield, and other state companies had been operating under the limited hours set by Governor Charlie Baker for the past month.
However, last week the governor announced that companies will no longer have to close until 9:30 p.m., although they are still not allowed to exceed 25% capacity. This restriction will remain in place for at least two weeks.
For the time being, the accommodations will only offer limited dining and other services.
Baker found that hospital admissions had declined 10 percent from the peak in early January, and the average positive test rate had decreased 33 percent over the same period. These improvements gave the administration confidence to ease restrictions.
Encore Boston Harbor in Everett was supposed to be open 24/7 on Wednesday. MGM Springfield will do so on Friday.
