Hon. James Oche Sends Condolence to Families and Victims of Tanker Explosion in Ahumbe, Communal Clash in Okokolo, Agatu.
Condolence to Families and Victims of Tanker Explosion in Ahumbe and Communal Clash in Okokolo of Gwer-East and Agatu Local Government Areas of Benue State Respectively
It is with a heart full of grief that I recieved the shocking news of the tanker explosion that occurred yesterday 1st June, 2019 at Ahumbe Village, Gwer-East Local Government Area, claiming over 50 lives and leaving over 70 victims with various degrees of injury. Similarly, on the same day, Communal clashes in Agatu left not fewer than 12 persons dead and others injured in Okokolo Community of the Local Government.
I sincerely wish to express my heartfelt sympathy to the victims and their families over the tragedies. It is my prayer that, the good Lord heal those who are alive and grant eternal rest to those who died from the excruciating pains of fire and brutal communal crisis.
I humbly wish to use this medium to also caution all Benue people, especially our rural communities as to the negative consequences of communal crisis and inflammable dangers of vehicles that convey petroleum products. Our people must embrace peace and stay united for sustainable development.
I condole with my counterparts, the Transition Chairmen of Gwer-East and Agatu Local Governments, Hons. Nicholas Utukwa and Alilu Suleman over the disaster that has occurred within their domain. May God himself give you the strength to lead your people well, especially in this moment of sorrow.
Accept my deepest sympathy.
Hon. James Oche
Transition Chairman, Ado Local Government Council.
